One of the worlds oldest blue cheeses.

This Gorgonzola Gran Riserva Mario Costa has Denominazione de Origine Protetta and is produced in the Italian region of Piedmont by davide Fileppo Zop and his sister Federica, the fourth generation to head operations.

Made from unskimmed cow's milk this traditional blue cheese takes three to four months to reach full ripeness and is normally kept for the home market.

It is soft & creamy on the palate with a rich, spicy but slightly sweet flavour and a crumbly and firm texture.

We like to enjoy it with a large glass of Primitivo.
